Fjord en

A conservative Romanian family moves to a small isolated village in Norway, where their devout Christian parenting style soon comes under scrutiny. When one of their children arrives at school with bruises, and another voices homophobic views, a conflict with the authorities escalates. Religious fanaticism and rigid bureaucratic systems come head to head in this courtroom drama with Roze Filmdagen darlings Renate Reinsve and Sebastian Stan. With Fjord, director Cristian Mungiu won the prestigious Palme d’Or at Cannes this year, the prize he also received in 2007 with 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days.
